This is the cover of my 2013 NaNoWriMo New Adult novel (aka the novel that swiftly killed my confidence as a writer). What started out as an exciting premise for a story soon turned into an 80K+ draft of vapid shit—what's worse is that I wrote that vapid shit in eight days. (I can't blame the quality entirely on the pace of writing, as I've done it successfully before; the problem came from writing out of my genre.) I really wanted to love this book, but man—I've drafted seven books so far and this probably the worst of them all.

You know what? I just re-read the opening chapter and it's actually not half-bad. I'm astounded and feeling pretty encouraged by the prospect of this manuscript perhaps being salvageable after all. [I struggle with anything that's action-driven, so this novel was just a litttttttle bit out of the ol' comfort zone.]
