Weekly Goals

January 25, 2012

There's a lot I want to accomplish in a given day, and as we are all painfully aware, there simply isn't enough time to do it all, like, ever.

Especially not when you're browsing Tumblr and reblogging like a mad woman.

I love checklists. Well, it's actually the crossing off of the tasks at hand I enjoy. For some people, a rewards system does the job, but for me, scratching a line through a couple of words is reward enough. (I do treat myself to a splurge purchase if I've really accomplished something, though!). Here's a list of goals for the week.

  • Practice the oboe 30 minutes per day. Wed Thurs Fri Sat Sun
  • Record my first podcast
  • Re-record Darkness Surrounding audiobook (POSTPONED!)
  • Do a load of laundry
  • Do another load of laundry
  • Do ANOTHER load of laundry
  • Edit/rewrite 30 more pages of Streets [0/30 completed]
  • Finish Creation [20484/20000]
  • Catch up on reading for classes
  • Resubmit Darkness Surrounding proof with corrections
  • Mock-cover for friend
  • Revisions for friend #1
  • Revisions for friend #2
  • Email classmate assignment
  • Acquire music/pianist for house concert

I've got five days left to accomplish all of this. Hold me accountable, people. If stuff ain't getting crossed off, you have my full permission to hurl tomatoes at me. Or, um, whatever. Send me motivational images, pictures of cute kittens, or whatever you think'll get me back on track.

I'm working on this piece for a few weeks (I played it in middle school/high school for something back in the day), and then it's on to the Mozart Oboe Concerto!

  1. Tumblr is like crack to me. I have a problem. I try to only access it on my iPhone so I don't spend AS much time on it, but still ... Huge problem.

  2. Looks like you're doing pretty well with your goals already (despite being as knackered as me!) but I'll get my virtual tomato pile ready just in case ;)

    PS. Love your 'Kelly' bag!
